In 3D

Arguably one of his finest and most influential paintings, Pablo Picasso’s Guernica is seen above in a completely different light, thoroughly examined in digital 3D.

“Guernica is a painting by Pablo Picasso, depicting the bombing of Guernica, Basque Country, by German and Italian warplanes at the behest of the Spanish Nationalist forces, on April 26, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. The Spanish Republican government commissioned Pablo Picasso to create a large mural for the Spanish display at the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne (1937) Paris International Exposition in the 1937 World’s Fair in Paris.
Guernica shows the tragedies of war and the suffering it inflicts upon individuals, particularly innocent civilians. This work has gained a monumental status, becoming a perpetual reminder of the tragedies of war, an anti-war symbol, and an embodiment of peace. On completion Guernica was displayed around the world in a brief tour, becoming famous and widely acclaimed. This tour helped bring the Spanish Civil War to the world’s attention.”

My Favorite

Laurie Simmons is a photographer born in Long Island, New York where she continues to shoot. She stages photographs and films with paper dolls, finger puppets, ventriloquist dummies, and costumed dancers as “living objects,” animating a dollhouse world suffused with nostalgia and colored by an adult’s memories, longings, and regrets. Simmons’s work blends psychological, political and conceptual approaches to art making, transforming photography’s propensity to objectify people, especially women, into a sustained critique of the medium. Mining childhood memories and media constructions of gender roles, her photographs are charged with an eerie, dreamlike quality. By far these are my two favorite photographs done by her.
Lying Gun shot in 1990 and as you can see I used this for the background of my blog title
Walking Gun/The Music of Regret done in 1991

Headquarters

Ohhh those little birds that flew in and tweeted that Twitter had found a spacious new nest in San Francisco. The office space is a clean and electric mix of items such as neon lighting decorations and even a DJ stand complete with turntables and mixers. It's pretty phucken legit if you ask me.

NYC Edition

Ever since Levi Maestro aka Maestro Knows hit the streets in New York for his NYC Edition this is by far my favorite episode from the series. Interviewing and kicking it with Jonathan Mannion who in the photography world has done amazing work and has captured some of the most iconic pictures in the music industry. Check it out.

Slam City

Slam City Skates is located in London and is the premier skate shop since the mid-Eighties, wtf is wrong with that? I could not imagine that. Aside from their line of skateboards and apparel upstairs, the shop also features a full lower level dedicated to Nike SB. The shop has a very cool look I'd say. It's probably one of the most influential skate shops they got. I love how he pulls out a Huf sweatshirt. Cheoooow!

Ink

So last night I decided it was time to get some more ink done. So after drinking beers and watching the Raiders loose again I decided it was time to cruise down to Golden Eagle in Santa Barbara. With everything that has gone down with my family this year ''This too shall pass'' is something I feel that will happen with everything that is coming our way. So with that in mind check it out.
